The walls of the Los Angeles River have been a canvas for hundreds of graffiti artists for decades. But now, their markings
will vanish forever. Is this transformation wiping away criminal inscriptions or wiping out a part of L.A.’s history? You decide.

  1. I don't live in LA now; I did forty+ years ago. I believe that it was a terrible mistake to erase the art works. What is left looks terrible. The city fathers should be ashamed. Carefully done, this type of art is beautiful.

  2. Not all graffiti is art. Some of that paint that covers the L.A River was not placed there for artistic purposes. Is it ridiculous to spend so much money on removing it?....YES, but to say that some chicken scratches done by a few knucklehead kids or grown ass men for that matter is L.A's history is just wrong.

  3. I am not a graffiti fan or anything, to be honest i think its a little ghetto for my taste but the river looked better before than it does now and with all that money spent its just a shame.
